DC seeks public cooperation in preparation of healthy electoral roll

Thoubal, November 07 2024: Ahanthem Subhash, Deputy Commissioner Thoubal has called upon the people of the district to cooperate in the preparation of a healthy electoral roll, referring to the release of the Photo Electoral Roll 2025 on January 1, 2025 .

He made the appeal during a press briefing held today at the DC Office, Thoubal Mini Secretariat.

Addressing the media persons, the District Election Officer, Thoubal said that the Integrated Draft Electoral Roll was published on October 28 in connection with the release of the Photo Electoral Roll 2025 with respect to January 1, 2025 as the qualifying date.

In this regard, he has urged the citizens of Thoubal to submit their claims and objections by November 28 and make the necessary corrections to their names, addresses and so on.

Additionally, to facilitate the submission of these claims and objections, the Election Commission of India has assigned four "Special Campaign Date" on November 9, 10, 23 and 24 where the public will have the opportunity to make the submissions at their local polling stations instead of physically visiting the concerned office or resorting to online submission.

During the campaign, individuals who have turned 18 years old by April 1, July 1 and October 1 of 2024 can also apply to be registered in the electoral roll next year, informed the Thoubal DC .
