Imphal, October 07 2015: A man has been severely hospitalised after he was attacked with machete yesterday around 9 pm at Lilong in Thoubal district.

According to a source, Md Tajuddin (35) of Lilong Turel Ahanbi Dam Maning was attacked with machete by one Md Khomei (62) of Lilong Atoukhong.

Tajuddin went to Khomei to recover money which he borrowed from him.

The victim was rushed to Shija hospital in a critical condition today.

He received deep cut mark at the neck.

The attacker is said to be absconding.

Irate mob burnt down the house of Md Khomei later.

A public meeting was held today in connection with the incident.

What transpired during the meeting is not known yet.
