Kangpokpi, March 07 2020:
The non SoO Kuki militant outfit, KNF-N has condemned the decision of the State Legislative to extend six more months for conducting the ADCs poll and warned to boycott the election as well as the notified recruitments in all ADCs under TA & Hills.
The outfit information and publicity secretary, Gou Kuki stated that the cabinet decision had testified how the State Government neglected the hill areas both politically and developmentally.
He continued that as per Manipur District Council Act, 1971 Chapter III (13) 'Terms of Office of Members', the present ADCs member election was conducted on June 1, 2015, for five years which is to be completed by June 2020 while adding that the election must be conducted on or before early June.
Saying that the recent hasty recruitment notification for all ADCs under TA & Hills before the ADCs election also clearly demonstrated the secret of seeking money for the standing ADC's members to put up money powers in the election, he urged the State Government to conduct the election free and fairs.
The outfit is incensed and offended upon the State Government for not implementing the District Council Act, 1971 Chapter III no 29, i.e functions of the District Councils (Articles i-xvii) till today, Gou Kuki said and urged the State Government to fully implement the same at the earliest.
The outfit also maintained that if the election is postponed for another six months it will severely affect the voters and students, therefore, it will be wise on the part of the Government to revoke it cabinet decision and conduct the ADCs poll on or before June 2020 .
If the State Government fails to revoke its cabinet decision and rather go ahead with the postponement and recruitment before election, KNF-N will be compelled to boycott the ADCs poll as well as the recruitment, the outfit warned.
