Imphal, November 06 2012: The Mapithel Dam Affected Ching-tam Organisation has appreciated the step taken by the State Government in its endeavour to address the grievances of Mapithel Dam affected villagers.

A statement issued by the MDACTO has, at the same time, urged the Government authority to solve the problems faced by the downstream affected people too at the earliest time possible.

The MDACTO statement also said that it was unfortunate that the Mapithel Dam Affected Village Organisation (MDAVO) is opposing the ongoing process initiated by the Government through the DC and SP of Ukhrul.

It appealed MDAVO and the Government authority to show cooperation to each other so that an amicable solution is reached on the matter.

The statement further urged the Government for speedy implementation of rehabilitation grant, special economic package and other provisions applicable to the affected villagers.
