Imphal, August 06 2015: The Manipur Legislative Member L Ibomcha Singh today has issued a satiric statement on the student-police confrontation yesterday at the New Secretariat gate.

Making it clear that the State does not have a specific law that allows only women police forces to handle female agitators, the Legislative Member goes on to state that the protesters who waved their 'Phaneks' at male police commandos yesterday must have assumed the personnel as their own 'female constable friend' .

He appealed the personnel to hold no grudge against the students for the act adding that the act of 'pulling hairs' are solely carried out by women.

On a sober note, the Legislative Member appealed all the MLAs and political parties to join hands and take up measures that may issue from the Naga Peace accord signed between the Government of India and NSCN-IM.
