Imphal, November 05 2016: College of Nursing, Medical Directorate, Lamphelpat has observed its 1st foundation day cum oath taking ceremony of 1st year BSc nursing students at the college conference hall today.

Health and Family Welfare Minister D Korungthang, Additional Director of health Services Dr P Shyamsunder and Additional Director of Health Services Dr K Komolini as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Altogether, 40 nursing students were administered oath.

Minister D Korungthang said that nurses play an important role in providing health care to the people.

Medical service is an essential service.

Therefore, it is necessary for the nurses to learn diligently in order to render selfless service to the people, the Minister said.

The Minister also added that the State Government is making all possible efforts to regularise the services of the contract nurses.

"We, as the citizens of the State, have a duty towards the development of the State.

Let us first deliver our foremost duties which will turn contribute to the growth and development of society and State as a whole," Minister D Korungthang said.
