Wild animals relocated at Yangoupokpi Lokchao Wildlife sanctuary

Trained to survive, numerous rescued wild animals find a new home at Yangoupokpi Lokchao Wildlife sanctuary, Chandel on the World Animals Day today.
Marking its 4th foundation day, the People for Animals, Manipur relocated 12 rare wild animals at the sanctuary under a program named, "New Home" .
Two Barking Deer, two Bengal Slow Loris, five common cobra and an elongated turtle were relocated with the permission of State Chief Wildlife Warden yesterday amid the celebration of Wildlife Week.
Most of the animals were rescued as orphaned, injured or sick.
Wild animals distressed in the recent flood were also among the animals that were relocated yesterday.
Arun, DCF (Park and Sanctuary), Director, Zoological garden provided necessary help in the relocation including fuels and vehicle for transportation.
Dr Konsam Devkishore of Claws and Paws Vet.
Clinic, Keishampat was the veterinarian for the rescued animal.
A Dinesh of Bamdiar Chingmang and O Tikendrajit from Mayang Imphal also provided vehicles to PFA for the relocation of the animals.
Twenty Spotted dove and six turtles will further be relocated soon, L Biswajeet Meitei, Managing Trustee, PFA, Manipur informed in a statement.
