Twilongkun civil bodies back NAKYU, MAYO

Kangpokpi, April 05 2017: Chief's Organization, Kangpokpi district and civil bodies of Twilongkun area including Chief Organization of Twilongkun area and Women Union, Twilongkun area have backed the demand made by Northern Area Kuki Youth Union and Mayangkhang Area Youth Organization.

The organisations will endorse any agitation including total bandh.

It may be recalled that the two youth organizations have been demanding clearance of the bill of 2015-2016 to repair NH-2 on or before April 11 and warned to impose total bandh from midnight of April 12 .

The Chief Organization of Kangpokpi and Twilongkun civil bodies expressed their discontentment over the pitiable road condition of NH-2, particularly from Kangpokpi DHQs to Senapati DHQs.

President Chief's Organization Kangpokpi alleged that the Public Works Department is a 'biased department' segregating valley contractors and the local tribal contractors, reports our correspondent.

He said that it is very unfortunate to have such partiality in the department which can create misunderstanding among different ethnic groups in the State.

The Chief Organization including Twilongkun civil bodies felt that the demand of NAKYU and MAYO is legitimate and urged the State Government to consider the demand and fulfil it before the stipulated deadline, said Tilkhothang Kipgen.
