Imphal, March 05 2014 : A on-day brainstorming session on animal genetic resources of Manipur was held today at the conference hall of Hotel Classic.

The inaugural function of the session was graced by Agriculture and Fisheries Minister, Md Abdul Nasir; Director of National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources, Karnal, Dr Arjava Sharma and Director of V&AH Services Dr Saidokhum Joute and former Director of V&AH, S Joykumar as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

Dr Saidokhum Joute, Dr PK Singh, Dr DK Sadana and Dr RK Pundir spoke on status of animal genetic resources and livestock breeding policy of Manipur State, Characterisation of Animal Genetic Resources, conservation of livestock and poultry diversity and guidelines for breed registration during the session.

Animal Genetic Resources of Manipur and Livestock Breeding policy was also deliberated during the brainstorming session.
