Imphal, November 04 2023: A six-day workshop on "Pena and Costume Making of Manipur Dance" organised by Department of Dance & Music, Manipur University (MU), was kicked off today at MU Court Hall, Canchipur.

The inaugural function of the workshop was attended by former Khurai AC MLA, Dr Ng Bijoy; MU Vice Chancellor, Prof N Lokendra; and MU, Head in-charge, Department of Dance & Music, Dr P Lilabati Devi as presidium members.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Ng Bijoy lauded the Department of Dance & Music for organising the 6-days workshop and added that such workshops & discussions will contribute in preserving & promoting the arts & culture of Manipur.

As part of the event, a book titled, "Performing Art & Culture" written by Pukhrambam Lilabati Devi and edited by Premlata Maisnam was also released.
