Imphal, October 04 2014 : As part of the Swachh Bharat campaign launched by the Government of India, employees and agents of Life Insurance Corporation of India, Kakching branch office undertook the 'Swachchta Shapat' (cleanliness pledge) on October 2 at it office premises.

A mass social service drive around the office campus and surrounding areas was also carried out on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

LIC Kakching Branch, under Silchar division originated in the year 1990.Since then, the bank has been serving Thoubal and Chandel district populace in the insurance sector.

Meanwhile, the Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting , Imphal Centre has launched Swatch Bharat Mission with the observance of National Cleanliness Day at its office complex at Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak, Imphal on October 2 .

The cleanliness drive was administered by the OC of S& DD, Imphal Centre LB Singh in unison with all the employees and continued till 3 pm of the day.

Later on, a cultural programme of song, dance & drama concluded the event in the presence of State president of BJP, Th Chaoba Singh.

As a part of the Swatch Bharat Mission, District Water and Sanitation Committee, Bishnupur and SEHCDO jointly organised a district level workshop at Kiyamba Ningshing Shanglen today.

The function was graced by DC Jason A Shimray, District Water and Sanitation Committee member Secretary and EE of PHED O Meino and retired CMO Kh Modhumangol as the Chief Guest president and guest of honour respectively.

Social Worker MC Thoiba spoke at the occasion as resource person of the workshop.
