Sit-in protest staged

Kakching/Bishnupur, December 03 2024: Many organizations across the State stage sit-in protest demanding withdrawal of the FIR filed against Arambai Tengol leader Korounganba Khuman.

Condemning the charges levelled against Korounganba Khuman by the NIA, Meira Paibis of Kakching district stage sit-in protest at Sekmaijin Keithel, Tokpaching Mondrum Mahadeva gate, Waikhong Ningthou Manei Community Hall, Thongjao Keithel Community Hall, Elangkhanpokpi Mamang Mandop, Thounaojam Keithel Shed, Yangdong Keithel Community Hall, Lamjao Mayai Leikai, Lamjao Makha Leikai, Lamjao Kangjeibung Community Hall.

Several placards with messages such as "We condemn NIA charges levelled against Korounganba Khuman," "Withdraw cases levelled against Korounganba," "We condemn imposing AFSPA in the valley" were held during the protest event.

Similar protest was also held at Kumbi Keithel demanding withdrawal of the NIA case against Korounganba Khuman.

Jaya Khangembam, a protester states that the NIA levelling charges against Korounganba Khuman, leader of Arambai Tengol is unacceptable and called for the withdrawal.

She continued that an intense form of agitation will be initiated by the IDPs of Kumbi along with Kumbi Mikoncha family if the NIA does not withdraw the cases levelled against him.

Later the protesters raised various slogans like "Withdraw the case filed against Korounganba," "Arrest us, before arresting Korounganba," "No cases must be filed against Korounganba" .
