Heingang BCC extends financial aid

The Heingang Block Congress Committee (BCC) has extended a financial assistance of Rs 55,000 to the people whose houses were destroyed/ burnt down in the terror attack'carried out by Kuki militants using weaponized drones at Koutruk on September 1, 2024 .
The financial assistance was provided with the contributions from Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary P Saratchandra and members of Heingang BCC.
Yesterday, a team of Heingang BCC led by president Mangsatabam Lalitchandra Singh and P Saratchandra visited Koutruk and met with the victims of the terror attack launched by Kuki militants.
At the event, P Saratchandra lamented that despite the heavy presence of Central Security Forces, Kuki militants continue to attack innocent villagers in the peripheral areas using drones and high-tech weapons.
He appealed to the State Government to deploy an adequate number of State Forces in the peripheral areas to protect innocent villagers from these attacks.
He also urged the State and Central Government to take immediate action to end the conflict and restore peace & normalcy in Manipur at the earliest.
Koutruk Apunba Meira Paibi general secretary Thangjam Leirna appealed to the State Government to provide adequate compensation to the victims and rebuilt the houses destroyed in the terror attack.
She also conveyed her appreciation to the Heingang BCC for their concern and generous assistance during this difficult time.
Notably, the terror attack launched by Kuki militants in the Koutruk area on September 2, resulted in the death of a woman and injured ten others, including her 6-year-old daughter and a journalist.
