Eye Donation campaign held

Bishnupur, September 03 2017: SAKSHAM Manipur Prant, Bishnupur Vibagh, organised the 2nd Eye Donation Campaign, as a part of the Eye Donation Campaign forthnight which began from August 25, at Moirangkhunou Mamang Sambal Mandop under Thanga AC, Bishnupur district today .

Moirang MLA, P Saratchandra, Karwa (Secretary RSS) Bishnupur Bibhag , RK Surchandra Singh, Thanga AC MLA, T Robindro Singh, Kumbi AC MLA, S Bira Singh, Moirangkhunou Gram Panchayat Pradhan, Gouramani Singh and social worker K Krishnakumar Singh attended the event as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively .

Speaking at the event, P Saratchandra Singh said that it is of utmost importance for healthy people and generous souls to donate their eyes for the less fortunate people so as to grant them a chance to see the world.

Assistant secretary SAKSHAM, Manipur, Irengbam Herachandra Singh said that the function marks the second iteration of the campaign which began from August 25.He also appealed to the people to donate their eyes so that when they die , their eyes will give a new leash on life for the less fortunate.

More than 260 people have already donated their eyes to the programme which will continue till September 8 .

30 individuals also donated their eye at the event today, including P Saratchandra, T Robindro Singh and K Krishnakumar Singh.
