Imphal, February 02 2016: Two day 'capacity building programme for elementary teacher educators in effective organization of Internship Programme' concluded today at the SCERT multipurpose hall, Lamphelpat.

The capacity building programme was organized by the Department of Teachers Education, NCERT, New Delhi.

Joint Secretary of SCERT Kholia attended the concluding day as the chief guest where 34 teacher educators under DIETs, 17 from Nagaland and 17 from Manipur took part in the two-day long programme.

On the concluding day, group works from participants, presentations, performance indicators (PINDICS) for elementary teachers and group discussion were conducted.

Commenting on organizing such programme, Rajrani from the Department of Teachers Education, NCERT stated that under the recommendations of NCTE 2014 regulations, modification has been made in the area of school experience programme (Internship Programme) and revision of pre-service, in-service of teacher educator and teacher's performance.

She added that NCERT has developed comprehensive guidelines for organization of Internship Programme and enhancement of practice teaching component at elementary teacher education level.

Meanwhile, Project Officer of SCERT N Somorjit Meetei stated organizing such orientation programme will bridge the gap between teachers and teacher educators.

The two day capacity building programme was logistically supported by SCERT.
