Killing of Ibemhal: Locals warn of agitation

Locals of Poiroukhongjin Kaina have warned of launching intense agitation if justice in the killing of Kambam (O) Ibemhal is not delivered within September 5 .
Addressing a press meet today at Manipur Press Club, convener of All Poiroukhongjin Clubs and Meira Paibi, P Chaoba said four persons were arrested by the police in connection with the killing of Ibemhal.
The four persons are Kambam Dasho (45), Kambam Ramkumar (40), Kambam Lilabiro (50) and Kambam Birachandra (47).The first three accused are said to be brothers.
They had also looted Rs 2.50 lakh from Kambam (O) Ibemhal in April 2013, Chaoba said.
The accused persons took about Rs 1.40 lakh from Ibemhal after killing her on August 18 this year.
Police made contradictory statement on the arrest.
They said that they were arrested on ground of suspicion.
However, the police refused to release them when their release is demanded if they are not found guilty, Chaoba said.
P Chaoba further accused the police of abusing and charging the deceased's son and daughter in-law of being involved in the killing of their mother after taking them to Kangla on Aug 28.As such, the locals will launch intense forms of agitation unless the real culprits in the killing of Ibemhal are not produced within Sept 5 .
