Seminar on youth empowerment and Nation building held

A one day national seminar organised by National Service Scheme cell (NSS), Manipur University on 'Youth Empowerment Nation Building' was inaugurated in the Centenary Hall, Manipur University today.
MU Vice-Chancellor Prof Adya Prasad Pandey, Prof Sh Dorendrajit Singh, Director, Internal Quality Assessment Cell, Manipur University, Prof Kh.Tomba Singh, Dean of Student's Welfare Manipur University and Dr K Shitaljit Singh co-ordinator, NSS Cell, Manipur University graced the inaugural programme as presidium members.
Speaking at the programme, the Vice- Chancellor stated that India has the highest youth population country in the world.
" Youth should be constructive, positive and energetic as they are the backbone of the nation building process," he said and said that youth leadership is common phenomena in the field of health, education and socioeconomic development.
Corruption is the biggest challenge for a nation and youth can play a crucial role to stop it, Prof Pandey said.
Prof Dorendrajit said that family is the foundation of society and society forms the nation.
"Let us bring out innovative ideas to make a healthy and prosper country," he said.
Prof Tomba Singh also shared his past experience as NSS co-ordinator of Silchar University.
He said that employment is the biggest problem in the present world by which a large number of youth are victimised.
