'Ghost of peace' released

A book titled 'Ghost of Peace (Why not abrogate SoO agreement with Kuki armed groups to prevent destabilization of India)' published by Meitei Alliance was released today in a function held at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.
The book release function was attended by Meitei Alliance member Dr Malem Ningthouja, All Manipur Working Journalist Union president Bijoy Kakchingtabam, retired IAS officer RK Nimai and other members of Meitei Alliance.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Malem said that Meitei Alliance is a global alliance of Manipur's Meitei community whose members are civil society organisations from around the world including in the UK, USA, Australia and Canada.
He mentioned that the Meitei Alliance was established on November 24, 2023 with the aim to foster unity & progress of Meitei ethnie worldwide.
"The Alliance envisions to play roles such as hyper-democratic unifying force on key Meitei issues and seek to provide thought leadership through collaboration with eminent scholars, leaders, and experts", he added.
Dr Malem continued that the book features a memorandum submitted to the Union Home Minister on February 21, 2024 highlighting the need & reason to abrogate SoO with Kuki armed militants.
"The book also contains details about the SoO agreement signed in 2008", he added.
