ICHAM continues to conduct drive

Imphal, January 31 2017: Continuing its drive at oil pumps located in Imphal area, Information Centre for Hill Areas Manipur (ICHAM) today inspected oil pumps in Imphal East district area. The drive was also joined by Zeliangrong Union (AMN) president Amu Kamei.

Most of the oil pumps in Imphal East district area were found distributing fuel to general public efficiently, informed ICHAM president N Rajendro while speaking to mediapersons at ICHAM office located at North AOC after the drive was conducted.

ICHAM has also requested the authority concerned to discuss the matter so that general public do not have to suffer unreasonably as fuel is still widely available in black market, he said.

He added, "During this situation where people are suffering under shortage of essential commodities, it is neccasry for all the local organisations, clubs and Meira Paibi Lups to join hands and prevent such illegal activity from happening" .

He also said that the mud-slinging game between the Centre and State Government has made the suffering of the people worse.

"Priority should be given to the harships of the people by taking up all possible steps to resolve the issue immediately," he said.
