Imphal, January 31 2016: BJP Manipur Pradesh has announced that it would support and take part in the mass rally which would be taken out at Imphal on February 6 on the theme of integrity and common future of Manipur.

For BJP, safeguarding the State's integrity is a point listed foremost in the party's manifesto, BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba told media persons today.

He also appealed to all the people of Manipur to support and take part in the rally irrespective of community and ethnicity.

The political dialogue between Government of India and NSCN-IM should not be confined between the two sides.

The Chief Minister should urge the Government of India to take at least one representative of Manipur on board the peace talk, asserted Chaoba adding that BJP would extend all possible assistance towards this end.

Talking about the party's presidential election, Chaoba said that his tenure as party president as well as the term of the incumbent executive members expired on December 22 last.

"I received a letter from BJP National general secretary and headquarters in-charge Arun Singh on December 26 informing me to hold the post of BJP Manipur Pradesh president for some more time in view of the Manipur Legislative Assembly election which is due next year", Chaoba claimed.
