Need to inculcate reading habit highlighted

Imphal, December 31 2021: MP of Rajya Sabha, Leishemba Sanajaoba has stressed on the need to acknowledge the contributions and sacrifices made by the individuals of different communities for the motherland so as to maintain a peaceful and harmonious relation in the society.

He made the above statement during the book release function of the book titled 'A Brief History of Manipur (Pre History-1972 AD) written by Sapam Bheigya today at Manipur Hindi Parishad Hall, Old Assembly road organised by Sapam Hera Foundation, Tera Keithel.

The book release function was graced by Leishemba Sanajaoba, member of Kangla Board and Manipur Historical Society, Professor N Joykumar and president of Editors' Guild and Editor of the Sangai Express, Khogendra Khomdram as the presidium members.

Speaking about the book, the MP lauded Sapam Bheigya for writing a book based on the history of Manipur and termed it as a good initiative.

To have a concrete knowledge about the history, he said the historical facts should be traced and should be filed properly.

Further he appealed to all to inculcate a reading habit to acquire more knowledge and also to promote the writers.

Khogendra Khomdram also urged all to promote the writers of the State thereby instilling a reading habit.
