Lions Clubs observe Children Dignity week

Imphal, August 30 2015 : As part of the Children Dignity Week celebration to mark the 100th anniversary of Lions Clubs International, Lions Club of Imphal has distributed edible and stationery items to inmates of Kanglatongbi Children Home today.

A team of Lions and Lioness Club of Imphal handed over the items to the Home.

As part of the observance week, Lions Club of Imphal will provide assistance to inmates of Children Home Dewlahland on Sept 2 .

Lions Clubs observe Children Dignity week

On the occasion of Teacher's Day on Sept 5, a free eye care and detection camp will be organised at Lions Service Centre, Sangaiprou, according to Lion RK Lakhsana, secretary of Lions Club of Imphal.

Meanwile, Lions Club of Imphal Greater observed the Children Dignity week at Punya Shelter Home for Girls at Thangmeiband, Imphal.

The Home has more than 50 girl inmates, according to a statement.

As a part of the observance of the Children Dignity week, Lions Clubs of Imphal Greater distributed various reading materials consisting of more than 300 titles of different children books, dictionary, encyclopedia, reading materials, sports materials along with 2 dozens of Sindam exercise book and Abokki Phunga Wari to the inmates of the Punya Shelter home for Girls.

As a part of the Observance, a reading action programme, spelling competition, painting competition were also organised.

Lions Club of Imphal Greater through the programme encouraged the children to live with dignity besides creating awareness on the role of children in future and importance of reading etc.

Lions Club of Imphal Greater also shared a light refreshment with the inmates of the Shelter home along with the founder of the Children home, it added.
