Thoubal, July 30 2018:
A large number of students and Meira paibi of Khangabok part-Ill Khunou Leikai continued the sit-in-protest today at Khangabok new market demanding befitting punishment be given to the negligent doctors whom they alleged are responsible for the death of a young boy known as Zepelin who was referred to Thoubal District hospital after the locals of Khangabok fished him out from the pond.
Many students who took part in the protest demonstration maintained that Zepelin died due to recklessness of the doctors who checked upon him on Friday while demanding appropriate penalty for the irresponsible doctors.
A lady who took part in the protest demonstration alleged that the doctors who had attended the child that day were not able to perform a proper examination on the body as they were under the influence of alcohol which has led to the death of the child.
Mention may be made that a JAC was formed yesterday to spearhead the agitation while Imphal-Moreh were temporarily blocked by the enraged mob of Khangobok.
However, the agitators decided to slow down their agitations after Health Minister gave his assurance to set up a committee to investigate the matter.
