Imphal, October 29 2017: A nine year old kid saved a friend from drowning in Imphal River at Achanbigei Mayai Leikai at around 2.30 pm today .

Pungsungbam Amarjit (9) s/o Santa of Achanbigei Mayai Leikai and Thokchom Adison (9) s/o Bir Singh, belonging to the same locality were crossing Imphal River from Heingang toward Achanbigei but Adison sank midway .

By then, Amarjit had already crossed the river .

As some people who were present on the river bank saw Adison drowning, they raised an alert .

Immediately, Amarjit jumped into the river and tried to drag his friend up to the bank .

As people saw Amarjit struggling hard to drag his friend from the river, they jumped into the river and dragged out both the boys.
