Cabinet nods to Budget estimate

Imphal, June 29 2012: The introduction of Budget Estimate 2012-13 on the floor of the state Assembly was discussed during a Cabinet meeting held at the Chief Minister's conference hall today.

Sources revealed that the Cabinet meeting minutely discussed the budget estimate which is being planned to be introduced during the Assembly Session on July 2 next.

The departmental allocation was also discussed and finalized during the meeting.

According to information received by Hueiyen Lanpao in connection with the Cabinet meeting, the exact amount of funds allocated to each department is still not known as the Chief Minister has kept the Cabinet memo in his possession.

However, the budget estimate has given priority to Power and potable water.

Today's Cabinet meeting has also reportedly approved appointment of one Assistant Secretary and Joint Secretary in the Assembly Secretariat and regularization of 25 employees in accordance to a Court directive.
