Imphal, November 28 2017:
Popular British cultural tour operator ACFEA, the Associate Consultants for Education Abroad, said that it has completed prebooking to bring tourists to the next edition of Manipur Sangai Festival and that the world-class Manipur culture should be showcased to people across the globe.
Managing Director Tony Hastings, ACFEA and his wife Annie Hastings were in Imphal from Nov 24 to Nov 28 and watched various cultural programmes at the Sangai Festival.
Hastings said the cultural tour operator has been bringing in tourists for the last six decades to many parts of India to visit and see the cultural wonders.
He was in contact with Pangambam Kunjabihari, owner of the KB Enterprises who took part in the recently concluded World Tourism Mart in London and visited Imphal to watch the Sangai Festival.
The managing director had stressed on the importance of promotion, while referring to lack of exposure for the Manipuri culture despite its magnificence and world-class quality.
Pangambam Kunjabihari said Tony Hastings had informed him about the early pre-booking, accommodation, tour guides and the ACFEA's plan to bring in a horde of tourists from the 2019 edition of Sangai Festival.
Although Hastings had been to various parts of India, it was his first time in Manipur and he visited Moirang, Thanga, Karang, the Imphal War Cemetery and Kangla besides watching the cultural programmes at the festival.
He also watched several martial arts shows including those of thang ta and spoke with cultural activists and experts on Anglo-Manipuri history.
