MCPCR organises online 'National Consultation' programme

An online National Consultation on the topic 'Health and Wellbeing of children and adolescents in COVID-19 pandemic' was held today.
The programme was organised by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) along with Chairperson, Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) and representatives from State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCRs) in view of the anticipated vulnerability associated amongst children and to deliberate upon the preventive aspects to be undertaken to monitor and mitigate the risk factors for children in projected third wave of COVID-19 pandemic and its double mutant and various strains, said a press release issued by MCPCR.
Discussion for formation of an advisory and monitoring cell to look into COVID-19 related matters amongst children with atleast one paediatrician as its member; need for dedicated Covid Care Health Centres (DCCHC) for children at each district; providing adequate facilities for treatment of COVID-19 infected children in all districts and setting up of tele counselling from experts such as paediatricians/psychiatrist/psychologists for the general public were done at the programme.
The event was also attended by experts from Indian Academy of Paediatrics, RBSK-MOH&FW, NIMHANS, ICMR and National Neonatology Forum (NNF), added the release.
