On the run Molecule finally nabbed

Gurumayum Molecule Sharma who has been on the run since November 21 after allegedly shooting dead his nephew G Surajkumar at Chingamathak Ngakraba Leirak was finally arrested by Imphal West police commandos on November 24 from Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai near KFC restaurant.
Molecule who was produced before the Duty Magistrate of Imphal West later was remanded to police custody till November 30.The Imphal West commando tarn was led by its OC Inspector P Achouba.
Acting on specific information about the presence of G Molecule Sharma in Thangmeiband area, a team led by the Inspector rushed to the spot and spotted him walking on the road carrying a bag which allegedly had the suspected murder weapon concealed inside.
He had allegedly shot Surajkumar with a double barrel licensed gun.
G Molecule along with the weapon seized have been handed over to Singjamei police station.
It may be noted that the Singjamei police had registered an FIR against G Molecule under Section 302 for committing cold blooded murder.
Meanwhile during the preliminary interrogation on November 24, G Molecule revealed that the day after he allegedly committed the crime, he went to Kangpokpi by hiring an auto rickshaw to hide at one of his friend's place but came back as his friend was not at his house.
He spent the night at War Cemetery and then spent the next night (November 23) at a space between two shops at Chingmeirong, said sources.
It may be noted that G Molecule (72), of Chingamathak Ngakraba Leirak, had allegedly shot his nephew Surajkumar, who was working as a JTO (Junior Telecom Officer) in BSNL with a double barrel gun from close quarter on November 21.The bullet hit Surajkumar on his right hand and chest.
He was evacuated to Raj Medicity where he succumbed the same day.
Soon after allegedly committing the crime, G Molecule had fled the scene in a Maruti Van ambulance.
Police had recovered the vehicle abandoned in the evening from Thouda Bhabok Leikai.
Police had raided several suspected hiding places.
On the other hand, G Molecule's daughter Gurumayum Gita Paras (47), was arrested on the charge of conspiring and withholding information on the whereabouts of her father (G Molecule) and she was remanded to 3-days police custody on November 23 .
Family members and JAC have claimed the body of G Surajkumar for last rites after post mortem at RIMS morgue.
The post mortem was conducted in the presence of Duty Magistrate with full video coverage.
The JAC formed in connection with the murder case has demanded befitting punishment of G Molecule and early justice for G Surajkumar.
