Governor Gurbachan Jagat and Chief Minister O Ibobi have greeted the people of the State, especially Muslim brethren, on the auspicious occasion of Id-ul-Zuha which falls on October 27 .
Stating that the 'festival of sacrifice' epitomised the spirit of Sacrifice overcoming one's ego and narrow self interest for the larger good, Governor Jagat urged all concerned to remember and take inspiration from the selfless sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim who was willing to sacrifice his own son for the common good.
The Governor called upon all to resolve to work together for bringing unity, goodwill, peace and brotherhood in Manipur on this sacred occasion.
In the same vein, Chief Minister O Ibobi wished that the occasion spread message of friendship and forgiveness among the people of the State for a more peaceful and prosperous Manipur.
The GOC, Red Shield Division, Maj Gen KK Sinha, SM extended his warm greetings and sincere goodwill to the people of Manipur especially the Muslim brethren on the auspicious occasion of "Id-Ul-Zuha (Bakri id)".
He expressed the hope that this festive would herald in peace and prosperity in the State, said a PIB (DW) statement.
Maj Gen UK Gurung, YSM, IGAR (S) and all ranks of Assam Rifles extended a warm greetings and sincere goodwill to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) .
The IGAR (S) wished the festival herald an era of peace, progress and prosperity in the region and enhance the spirit of unity, cohesiveness and brotherhood among the warm and friendly people of all communities of the State, stated a release of the PRO of IGAR (S) .
