Imphal, August 26 2021: A combined team of Imphal East commandos and a column of 16 Assam Rifles arrested one active member of PREPAK along with demand letters from Kiyamgei this afternoon.

According to police, the arrested cadre has been identified as Mayanglambam Jenafa Meetei @ Babu (20), s/o M Ibotombi of Urup Makha Leikai Phunal Ningthou Laibung.

On verification, Jenafa revealed that he is an active member of PREPAK and joined the outfit in 2020 through one Ngamba.

He is presently working under the command of Thoungamba Thoiba of PREPAK.

He further revealed that he came out to hand over demand letters to one person at Kiyamgei Khongnangkhong near Premier English Academy on the instruction of Thoungamba Thoiba.

Hence, Mayanglambam Jenafa was arrested on spot and seized two demand letters signed by Aheiba Angom self styled finance secretary of PREPAK from his possession at around 1.10 pm by observing formalities.

The arrested person along with the seized letters has been handed over to Irilbung Police Station.
