Khurai BCC dismisses BJP allegations

Imphal, April 26 2015 : Taking a dig at the State BJP unit, Khurai Block Congress Committee (BCC) general secretary Thongam Leishemba, during a press meet held at Khurai Chingangbam Leikai, yesterday said that L Shushindro lacks the know-ledge of residential schools.

The BCC general secretary was referring to the statement of BJP Manipur unit secretary L Sushindro on April 25.Sushindro had rubbished the State Congress's attempt to establish a residential school at Chingkhei hill while drawing attention to the alleged poor maintenance adopted while building the school.

The site for establishing a residential school for Imphal East district was set at Chingkhei hills with consent of both the State Government and authorities concerned.

MLA Dr N Bijoy had taken a personal interest in the project, Leishemba stated.

Regarding the allegations of poor quality maintenance, Leishemba clarified that the BJP State Unit secretary had made false allegations to defame the party.

"As for the GI sheets," Leishemba said, "we could not really prevent a natural disaster can we ?" .

The BCC general secretary further clarified the party's stand on Land Ordinance.

He said the party does not plan to work against the welfare of the farmers.
