Imphal, November 25 2011:
Dr Nando who has been preparing to contest the forthcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly elections in Uripok Assembly Constituency under Trinamool Congress ticket has accused Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress Kim Gangte of not only running the party on her own whim but also trying to lead the party on ethnic lines.
Speaking to media persons at his Uripok Khaidem Leikai residence today, Dr Nando said that Kim Gangte never listened to the words of party's office-bearers.
Violating rules and norms of the party, she has been acting on her own whims, he added.
He further accused the party president of trying to lead the party on ethnic line.
For a block office which should be opened at Uripok, bio-data of the prospective office bearers were submitted to Kim Gangte.
But she came out with a list of office-bearers whom she selected at her own whim.
As such, even as Uripok Block Trinamool Congress has been set up, it remains dysfunctional, Nando said.
Stating that though he supports the demand for Sadar Hills district, Nando expressed strong reservation against imposing prolonged highway blockade.
Kim Gangte, as president of a political party should not have involved herself in the Sadar Hills district demand or supported the economic blockade.
Decrying the unilateral decisions taken by Kim Gangte without following any norm or rule, Dr Nando declared that he quit Trinamool Congress together his supporters from today.
He also confided that he would join BJP and fight the forthcoming Assembly elections.
