Chandel, August 25 2024:
A recent 'transfer' of doctors and nurses from the Chandel District Hospital when it is facing shortage of manpower has miffed the Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) .
The transfer order issued by the Director of Health Services came when it was preparing to make a request for additional facilities including a blood bank and manpower, said the CNPO in a statement.
The Director of Health and Services, Manipur should reconsider the order and send more doctors and nurses to the district hospital for uninterrupted healthcare services, it said.
On the other hand, the CNPO claimed it has come across two incidents where the Central and State security forces allegedly staged recovery of arms and ammunition in the west of Chandel district.
It claimed the "fake" recoveries of arms and ammunition occurred on June 25 and
August 21 .
"If these forces continue such acts in the Naga areas, they must be prepared to vacate the region.
We urge prompt attention to these matters to ensure the well-being and security of the people of Chandel," it said.
