RD Minister distributes E-Auto Rickshaw

Kangpokpi, June 25 2022:
Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and MAHUD Minister Y Khemchand Singh distributed E-Auto Rickshaw to the beneficiaries under Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission (SPMRM), Saikul Cluster, Phase-III yesterday at Thangkanphai village in Saikul.
The Minister attended the distribution programme held at Hoikhonei Multi-Purpose Hall, Thangkanphai village along with local MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing and Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi, Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, as presidium members.
The E-Auto Rickshaws were handed over to Ngamthang Khongsai, s/o Dontil Khongsai of Lajang Veng; Hemlal Chongloi, s/o (L) Thangmang Chongloi of Chonghang Veng; Lammang Dimngel, s/o (L) Thangkhojang Dimngel of New Saikul; and Sainei Angkang, w/o (L) Thotngaije Angkang of Purum Likli.
Speaking on the occasion, Y Khemchand Singh stated that SPMRM was launched on February 21, 2016, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the vision to deliver catalytic interventions to rural areas on the threshold of growth.
The Minister continued that SPMRM follows the vision of development of a cluster of villages that preserve and nurture the essence of rural community life with a focus on equity and inclusiveness without compromising with essentially urban in nature, thus creating a cluster of Rurban villages.
The mission's objective is to stimulate local economic development, enhance basic services, and create well planned Rurban clusters, he added.
Y Khemchand further assured that E-Auto Rickshaws will be distributed soon to the beneficiaries under Phase IV.
Kimneo Haokip Hangshing while conveying sincere gratitude to the Minister for gracing the distribution function, assured the people of her constituency that she will ensure more public welfare schemes under the Rurban mission after taking stock of the projects and consultation with the authority concerned.
Meanwhile, Y Khemchand along with the local MLA and District Administration officials also visited CHC Saikul and inspected the site for construction of Market Shed at Saikul hill town bazar.
