Imphal, June 25 2016 : Manipur State Legal Services Authority organised a one-day lecture cum interaction pro-gramme at the auditorium of the High Court of Manipur today.

Justice N Kotishwar, Justice S Serto, District and Sessions Court retired Judge L Birendrakumar, District and Sessions Court retired Judge U Kol, Special ND&PS Court retired Judge M Padmeshwar and District and Sessions Court retired Judge Dr Kh Gomati graced the occasion as presidium members.

Giving keynote address of the programme, Justice N Kotishwar said that lawyers and social activists must have thorough knowledge about the Indian Constitution.

Justice N Kotishwar, who is also the Executive Chairman of MSLSA said that today's programme was organised in continuation of a lecture cum interaction programme held earlier.

He said that different issues besieging the State would be discussed from legal angle during the programme.

Retired Judge L Birendrakumar spoke on the topic, 'Welfare of women and children in the administration of justice.' Retired Judge U Kol and retired Judge M Padmeshwar spoke on the topics, 'Importance of CPC' and 'Important provisions of UA (P) Act respectively.

Judiciary Officers of different districts, public prosecutors of various Courts, Advocates, Panel Lawyers, Legal Aid Counsels and law students attended the programme.
