Imphal, March 25 2015: People of Khurai, Lamlai and Kshetrigao will boycott the MLAs of these Assembly Constituencies if Pong Lambi, the road which connects JNIMS hospital with these three localities, is not re-opened to public at the earliest.

This was stated by the protesters who staged a dharna at Takhel Mayai Leikai under Lamlai AC today.

It may be mentioned that people of these Assembly segments have been staging protests ever since Pong Lambi was permanently blocked by the State Government by constructing a wall.

A woman protester said that Pong Lambi is not only a historic route but also the most important road which connects JNIMS hospital with different localities of Khurai, Lamlai and Kshetrigao ACs.

As the road has been blocked, people of these localities are facing lots of inconveniences as they have to take longer routes to reach the hospital, she added.

As such, people of these ACs would boycott their respective MLAs if the road is not opened to the public at the earliest, the woman said.
