The All Manipur Students' Guardian Organisation today alleged the State Government that necessary steps were not being implemented in private schools of Manipur to enforce the Right to Education Act which makes every private school a mandatory to provide 25 percent of free education to students.
Speaking to reporters, organisation spokesperson, Sumati, stated that although RTE Act mandates every schools to provide 25 percent of free education to students, no such report is receiving from private schools.
She urged the State Government, schools authorities, to enforce the RTE considering parents who could not afford to send their children to school.
CEE has been implemented in schools and Higher secondary schools under SSA, BOSEM and RMSA.
Under CEE, 20 marks are being allotted for each students by the school while 30 practical marks and 20 marks for Internal assessment are being added for the Science students under COHSEM.
Asserting the increase in the overall percentage of students, she raised a questioned it was a hard earned results.
She added that CEE system has been implemented unjustly and will ultimately degrade the education system in the State.
Dissatisfied over the present system of admission in the Higher Secondary level, she asserted that school must conduct an admission test instead of randomly selecting students through their secured marks.
She also stated that students who had cleared the compartmental examination and want to pursue commerce stream are denied from getting admitted to certain schools.
If students have secured the required marks then they should be given the equal opportunity to get admitted, she added.
The organisation urged the schools authorities to employ trained teachers and not to follow multiple school uniforms.
The organisation also appealed the State Government to implement the Manipur Service Act.
