Imphal, June 24 2016 :
Mother of late Sapam Robinhood on Friday condemned the wanted tag on JCILPS former convenor Ratan Khomdram.
She also urged the people and the State Government not to let the sacrifice of her son go in vain.
Sapam (O) Babita, mother of Sapam Robinhood who died in police action on July 8 last year during a pro Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) agitation, in an interview with The Sangai Express today said the State Government, instead of addressing the people's demand, is trying to divert the ILPS movement.
She alleged that the State Government has not been able to produce the true reports of the incident where Robinhood was killed.
"The first death anniversary of my son is 15 days away and ILPS is still a far dream.
I am disappointed.
The sacrifice of my son cannot go in vain," she said.
"No more deaths.
I don't want any other family to go through what we had.
The State Government should implement ILPS or a similar mechanism in the State soon," she added.
She further condemned the declaration of former JCILPS convenor Ratan Khomdram as a wanted man.
She also expressed disappointment that different groups of people inside the State are against the implementation of a system that would protect the people.
