Imphal, May 24 2021:
160 Crore sanctioned by RD & PR on May 21 will not be accepted by Imphal East and West PRI.
District Panchayat Parishad, Imphal West and Adhakshya and Up-Adhyaksha Imphal East said this in a statement issued today.
L Boby Devi, Up-Adhyaksha, Imphal West said an agreement was reached between Manipur State Panchayat Parishad and RD & PR Minister Th Bishwajit on April 24 .
However, the amount that was released on May 21 was not what the parties agreed upon.
As the released amount will not be able to cover the wage distribution for all the job card beneficiaries, decision to not accept it has been taken, she added.
The Central Ministry had released 485 crore in March 21, but the state has not released the same and the beneficiaries under MGNREGS are yet to get their wages while the PRI are still waiting for funds for material components even after the financial year has ended.
District Panchayat Parishad, Imphal West and Adhakshya and Up-Adhyaksha Imphal East appealed the concerned authorities to release the fund meant for wage and material components in toto as soon as possible and added the 160 crore released will not be accepted as it is not enough to meet the requirements.
