Laii village reels under flash flood

Imphal, October 23 2010: The flash flood that hit parts of Senapati district following over flowing of the twin rivers namely Lainy and Razai on October 9 reportedly caused destruction to 45 to 50 acres of paddy fields in Laii village.

According to a delayed statement issued by Chairman of Laii Village Authority Council, the villagers are yet to recover from the devastation caused by the flood.

The Chairman also appealed to the Government and its related Department to assess the damage for extension of necessary relief assistance to the affected villagers.
