Imphal, June 23 2014: A 54 year old man riding a scooter (Honda Activa) was killed when he was knocked down by a truck at Keishampat junction at around 9.30 am today.

The deceased identified as Pangambam Jayentakumar (54) of Haobam Marak Chingtham Leikai is said to be a UDC at IFCD, Flood Control Division-III .

He was going to his office when the fatal mishap occurred.

He was knocked down by a truck which was being towed by a recovery truck of 34 Assam Rifles.

He was immediately rushed to hospital but he succumbed to injuries on the way.

The body has been deposited at RIMS morgue even as a case has been registered at Imphal police station.
