Thoubal, April 23 2022: As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution (CAF & PD), Thoubal District on Thursday celebrated "Anna Yojana & Public Distribution" at Counting Hall, Deputy Commissioner Complex, Thoubal.

It was attended by Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash, IAS; District Supply Officer Thoubal, Md Nijamuddin and District Food Safety Officer, A Brojen as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, A Subhash urged the people of Thoubal district who are not eligible for ration cards to surrender their cards and the FPS agents to strictly conform to the guidelines issued by the Government.

Stating that many people are taking advantage of the food distribution system, the DC cautioned that strict actions will be initiated against such individuals to ensure the benefits of Government schemes reach its intended target.

The DC further lauded the agents for their dedication during the Covid pandemic and distributing food items to the public under PMGKAY.
