Farmers' training programme begins

A seven days Farmers' Training Programme on 'Crop Diversification and Rain Water Management organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Churachandpur under the aegis of ICAR-RC for NEF Region, Manipur commenced from today at the premises of KVK, Churachandpur.
The inauguration function was graced by Dr.N Prakash, joint Director, ICAR for NEH region Manipur as chief guest, T.Paugou, District Agri officer churachandpur as guest of honour and Dr..WRajen Singh, Programme Coorodinator, KVK Chaurachandpur as president respectively.
The seven-day programme is being held under the sponsorship of Ministry of Agriculture (SWPAL Project), Government of India.
Meanwhile, Directorate of Commerce and Industries, Government of Manipur organised a five-day 'skill development programme' for handicraft artisians from November 21 at the conference hall of the department.
S Birendra Singh, OSD Handicrafts and Ranjita Ngangom, Coordinator (NCDPD New Delhi) graced the inaugural function as President and guest of honour respectively.
Sponsored by National Centre for Design and Product Development (NCDPD) New Delhi, the training will impart skills to 20 handicraft artisans.
