Bishnupur, October 22 2017: The newly elected Zilla Parishad Members, Pradhans and Ward Members of four Gram Panchayats under Moirang Assembly Constituency were felicitated in an event organised at INA Memorial hall today .

Moirang Kendra former MLA, Mairembam Prithiviraj Singh, Moirang Block Congress Committee president Md Saukat Ali, Kwakta Municipal Council chairperson Md Nahayai and Councillors, Moirang Municipal Council vice chairperson M Bashanta Singh as well as councillors attended the event which was organised by Moirang Block Congress Committee .

Phubala Gram Panchayat Pradhan, Ningthoujam Ranjit Singh, Thamnapokpi-Ngangkhalawai Gram Panchayat Pradhan, Moirangthem Brojen Singh and Tronglaobi-Terakhongshangbi Gram Panchayat Pradhan Laichonbam Basanta Singh and the Ward Members of the four GPs were felicitated at the event .

Speaking at the event, ex-MLA, Prithiviraj Singh urged the newly elected Members to work together to bring development to the Constituency and also appealed to the authority concerned to take up necessary steps to improve the condition of infrastructure of the Constituency .

He said that the Congress party will not bark aimlessly at the BJP State Government just for the sake of being the Opposition party but will even encourage and applaud the Government for positive change .

However the new Government seem to be performing the exact opposite of the promises it makes, he claimed .

He said that the State Government is putting time and money in ventures and programmes which are useless instead of putting those expensive resources and manpower into the areas which require urgency .

Prithiviraj further appealed to the newly elected Members to perform according to the wishes of the people and in the interest of the State.
