Imphal, February 22 2016:
As the comments of Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang and Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla continue to draw flak in Manipur, the Naga Political Leaders' Forum, Manipur (NLPFM) has said that the two Chief Ministers had 'spoken the truth' .
According to the NLPFM, while gracing the Nagas' seed sowing festival Lui Ngai Ni at Ukhrul, the Chief Ministers of Nagaland and Mizoram had extended their solidarity to the Nagas and the tribals living in the "present" State of Manipur.
The PLFM also said that TR Zeliang and Lal Thanhawla shared the difficulties and problems being faced by the "aggrieved" tribal people of Manipur who are "marginalized" and "oppressed" by the "dominant" Government of Manipur.
It alleged that various Constitutional provisions for the protection of tribals' rights and tribal people have been "denied" by the Manipur State Government and this was "exposed" by the Chief Ministers of Nagaland and Manipur.
"The three anti-tribal Bills and many other anti-tribal policies and programmes being implemented by the Manipur Government were also shared by two tribal leaders," stated the NPLFM.
"What is wrong in telling the truth which the two Chief Ministers did ? " questioned the NPLFM.
The Naga Political Leaders' Forum, Manipur then appealed to every right thinking citizens to support the two Chief Ministers for their "concern" and "love" shown to the "suppressed" tribals of Manipur.
The PLFM also extended its appreciation to the two Chief Ministers for participating in the Lui Ngai Ni 2016 festival.
