Designate a separate directorate for disabled persons, says DDAM

The Disabled Development Association Manipur (DDAM) appealed to the Government to designate a separate directorate for the disabled persons for the welfare of the disabled persons in the State.
In a press release, DDAM said that it has been working earnestly for the upliftment of the disabled persons in the State and expressed gratitude to all the organisations and families of disabled persons who have been extending their continuous support to DDAM.
The Association have been helping the disabled persons and widows in the State who have been worst hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and in continuation of such initiatives, urea fertilizers to disabled farmers and widows at subsidized rates today.
DDAM thanked the Agriculture Department for providing the fertilizers when requested by the Association which were then distributed to the disabled farmers and widows.
Also COVID-19 Task Force Samurou also handed over edible items to DDAM which were provided by United Committee Manipur (UCM) .
The Disabled Development Association Manipur also informed that it has been selected for 1st National Jury by AMP in recognition of their activities for the welfare of disabled persons.
DDAM also earnestly appealed the Government and authorities concerned to take up special measures for the welfare of disabled persons in the long run and expressed belief that a separate directorate to manage the affairs of disabled persons will be designated soon.
