RLI schemes in Khangabok soon

Thoubal, January 21 2020: Former BJP Manipur Pradesh president Thokchom Jadumani and Minor Irrigation Department officials inspected drainage systems in and around Khangabok today.

The inspection was conducted, under the supervision of the Chief Minister, to draw plans to setup/ install up River Lift Irrigation (RLI) schemes in the area to provide irrigation water for agriculture, said Th Jadumani.

The team including Minor Irrigation, Thoubal Division Executive Engineer Th Dayanand, Assistant Engineer M Michael and other officials visited various agricultural area.

The proposed RLI schemes will give irrigation water to fields in Kiyamba Loukol, Tentharam Loukol, Louwanbi Loukol, Mamang Loukol, Umurou Loukol, Kornjao Loukol, Angongkhong Loukol, Soi Makha Loukol and Moulubi Loukol etc, officials said.

The first phase of the RLI schemes will cover Hogaibi Turel Ikopningthou Laibung area, Arong Turel Naharu Dam and Komol Leirak area, said Th Jadumani adding that the drainage systems will be constructed soon.

On behalf of the farmers in the areas, he also thanked and lauded the Chief Minister for the proposed RLI schemes.
