Imphal, July 20 2022:
Employees of the Power Department have cautioned of taking mass casual leave if the authority concerned fails to clear their pending salaries for two months by July 22 .
Addressing a press meet
held at Power Department, Keishampat here on Wednesday, one S Gunindro, who spoke on behalf of other aggrieved employees, informed that they have not been paid their pay for the month of May and June.
If the ongoing month is to be considered, then the salary is pending for 3 months, he said, adding that the delayed payment is causing immense difficulties to the employees.
Urging the government to
clear the pending salaries by July 22, Gunindro said that if the government ignores their plight and genuine demand, then the employees will take mass casual leave for 3 days from July 25 onwards.
If the
government still refuses to provide a positive response to the matter even after that, more intense agitations will be launched, he added.
The press meet was also attended by other employees of Power Department.
