Imphal, May 20 2025:
The Apunba Manipuri Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK) has urged organisers to wind up musical events (concerts) before midnight.
It has also' urged people attending such events to refrain from live streaming or live telecasting from the venue.
At a media briefing held today at the Koubru Conference Hall of Manipur Press Club, Mayengbam Dhananjoy, general secretary, AMMIK, said that the conflict is yet to be resolved and Manipur is still in a state of turmoil.
Internally displaced folks continue to languish in relief camps without any means to return to their original homes.
However, singing and other related activities are a means of livelihood for many artists and people cannot be expected to live in suffering all the time, he said.
In view of this, AMMIK has resolved to allow the conduct of such musical events to ensure the livelihood of artists engaged in this profession, provide the public with a way to unwind and keep the longstanding tradition of holding such events alive, said M Dhananjoy.
However, the established regulations and do's and don'ts of AMMIK should be followed during the events.
In addition to ending the concerts by midnight, M Dhananjoy made an appeal to prevent intoxicated persons from causing disruptions at such events.
Moreover, he urged the organisers to ensure that the attendees maintain decorum and that the fans do not climb up the stage and cause problems for the artists.
He urged the sound and lighting service providers to be aware of this issue.
Notably, he instructed organisers to get receipts from AMMIK in order to host any musical events.
The receipt contains all the "dos and don'ts" related to such entertainment events, he added.
