Manipur, UP sign MoU on Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat

Imphal, December 19 2024: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed today between the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Government of Manipur for implementation of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.

The MoU was signed at a formal function organised by the Department of Tourism & Culture, Government of Uttar Pradesh at Lucknow.

Uttar Pradesh Minister of Culture and Tourism Jayveer Singh, Minister of Higher Education Yogendra Upaydhyay and Principal Secretary (Tourism & Culture) Mukesh Kumar Meshram attended the function.

The Government of Manipur was represented by Commissioner (Art & Culture) M Joy Singh and he was assisted by Deputy Director (Art & Culture) G Dharmadas Sharma.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh was represented by Special Secretary (Culture) Ravindra Kumar.

Soon after signing the MoU, M Joy Singh gave a speech which was followed by presentation of two cultural items viz; Thougal Jagoi and Thang-Ta.

The MoU has come into effect immediately and will be valid for three years which may be renewed for another three years by mutual written consent of both the sides.

The MoU covers various activities including cultural exchange programmes.
